A 2 days gorilla trek from Kigali is commendable for anyone who loves to meet the apes in a short tour. Your tour starts from Kigali in Rwanda then you head to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park before you return to Kigali. In Bwindi, 459 mountain gorillas (almost a half of the world population) survive. Scenic views in 2 countries that have these in plenty offer additional experiences. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi from Kigali
Anywhere in Kigali, we pick you up for a scenic transfer to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ruhija sector is your destination, and to travel there by road, a distance of 165 km is covered. Moreover, you pause at the Cyanika border to clear immigration issues before you continue. Lunch is enroute, preferably in Uganda. Arrive at Bwindi and check in at your lodge found at the very cool forest. Enjoy the air around you which is significantly fresher than that in the cities. Wait for your dinner and thereafter an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trek & Transfer Back to Kigali
Today you participate in a gorilla trek in the forest after you finish the fresh breakfast. Check out first before you go to the Ruhija trailhead. A session to get tips on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking is offered by the park staff. What happens next is the opportunity that brought you for this trip. That is, a gorilla trek where you hike through the dense forest in search of a family of habituated mountain gorillas. The ranger guide will announce an hour for you to spend in their presence.
Afterwards, it is time to go back to Kigali, Rwanda via Katuna border where you pause again for immigration clearance. Your lunch offered once you pause, again, along the way. In Kigali, drop off happens anywhere you would like to be left. This is either your accommodation or the airport etc. We part ways to end the 2 days gorilla trek from Kigali.
