Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Our driver guide picks you up from any point in Kampala or Entebbe. Then, you transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, a 234 kilometers journey from Kampala.Arrival is inside the park, where the landscape and wildlife views mesmerize you even before you reach the lodge. Check in at your lodge before your dinner is served for your body’s happiness. In the comfort of your bed, sleep to enjoy the peace of the night.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Early in the morning get breakfast and enjoy the drive across the park for a chance to see 76 mammal species. Birds are also many, with recorded species at 451. The northern sector offers better views and this is where you spend your 2-3 hours on a game drive. Meanwhile, a boat cruise starts from Paraa and offers a chance to move on the Victoria Nile. Head towards the Murchison Falls, with views of crocodiles and hippos. Once you get satisfied with the views of the falls return to the lodge where you get served dinner. Then, get sleep to end the second day of your 12 days Uganda gorillas, chimps, golden monkeys & wildlife safari.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Today, a long journey to Kibale National Park awaits. From Murchison Falls National Park, this forest is 253 kilometers away. Breakfast is at the lodge in Murchison while lunch is offered along the way. Arrive, check in and soak in the serenity of the forest, even from your balcony. your third meal is dinner that is offered in the evening before you think of a goodnight sleep. This is the end of your fourth day of the 12 days Uganda gorillas, chimps, golden monkeys & wildlife safari.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp Nature Walk
On this fifth day, you have 2 adventures, with the first happening as soon as you finish breakfast. This is a chimpanzee trek that starts at the park’s visitor’s reception center. Once you gain the knowledge about what to do and not do as you track, enter the forest. An experienced tracker is meant to guide you as you look for a habituated chimpanzee community deep inside the forest. Find these amazing apes and watch them for not more than 1 hour for their comfort.
Bigodi swamp waits for you after lunch because you need to explore this habitat, continuous with the forest. A walk in nature here offers a lot of beautiful scenes that include primates, birds, mammals, and streams of water etc. This swamp houses a lot of monkey species, shoebills, sitatungas, great blue turacos and L’hoest’s monkeys etc. At your lodge There is dinner ready for you to enjoy before your thoughts shift entirely to a goodnight’s sleep.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start the sixth day with breakfast before you get inside the car for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This smooth transfer covers only 75.1 kilometers. However, it is a scenic experience with views of rift valley features, crater lakes, lots of wildlife and equator monument experience. By the time you reach your lodge, you would have seen some of the 95 mammal and 600 bird species. These comprise warthogs, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and others. After check in, indulge in some downtime before dinner arrives. Enjoy sleep until morning.
Day 6: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
In Mweya Peninsular or Kasenyi Plains, game drives offer views of high numbers of warthogs, elephants, antelopes, buffaloes and others. Lions, leopards, hyenas are residents as well. Watch them in the comfort of a safari car, driven by your guide across the grassland. Then a boat cruise comes after lunch. Inside a motorboat, clean views of crocodiles, hippos, elephants and birds are offered while you cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Return to your lodge for immersion in a peaceful ambience. Get some dinner in the evening while overnight stay comes later.
Day 7: Transfer to Ishasha and Game Drive to see Tree-climbing Lions
Transfer to Ishasha for more game drives, primarily to see tree-climbing lions. The sector also offers shelter to warthogs, elephants, antelopes, buffaloes and plenty of other wildlife. At your second accommodation within the park, check in for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You have to enjoy another scenic transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is a 172 kilometer journey from Queen to Bwindi, but with great lunch on the way there. Check in and enjoy the sweeping views of Bwindi for the rest of the day. Dinner time comes and you enjoy your meal before you head to bed. This is the end of your eighth day of the 12 days Uganda gorillas, chimps, golden monkeys & wildlife safari.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Meet the endangered mountain gorillas while they enjoy themselves in the forest. You see them for only 1 hour, but that comes after a hike in search of them. This starts at 8:00 a.m., after a short session organized by the park rangers. While your breakfast is at your lodge in the morning, your lunch must have been packed to be eaten at the park. Meanwhile, the dinner is at the lodge before you end the day with a peaceful sleep.
Day 10: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Bwindi is surprisingly closer to Mgahinga National Park than you can imagine. You only need to drive for a distance of 49.3 kilometers. Do this after your morning breakfast. Once you arrive at Uganda’s other gorilla destination relax for the rest of the day. However, you must end your tenth day of the 12 days Uganda gorillas, chimps, golden monkeys & wildlife safari in style. Do this with exceptional dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 11: Golden Monkey Tracking. Batwa Village Tour
Get breakfast and head back to the forest, before the start of a golden monkey trek. It starts at 8:00 a.m. but not without being briefed by the park ranger. Track the monkeys and accept to watch them for one hour. After your lunch walk in a village outside the forest, where a Batwa community lives. Feel at home when you interact with them because they have a lot of knowledge to give to you. Leave them only once you learn about their history and cultures and way of life. At your lodge, dinner and overnight will get even better than before.
Day 12: Drive back to Entebbe Airport
Have your breakfast as early as possible because today you depart to Kampala, a long distance from the forest. The 500 kilometers drive to the city also offers some time to stop for lunch.
