Overview
This is 7 days Uganda gorillas and Kenya Migration safari that has a lot to offer travelers in Africa. Explore East Africa’s diverse wildlife, landscapes, and cultures at Bwindi National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve. A part from a hike to meet the mountain gorillas, you view the Big five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino). Also, the Great Migration is included for a chance to meet a million wildebeests and zebras and gazelles. They cross the Mara River each year from Serengeti National Park in search for better pasture and water. Your safari starts in Entebbe, Uganda and ends in Nairobi, Kenya.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Once you arrive at Entebbe International Airport you will not wait for any second before our guide meets you. He/she is there to pick you up for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. What is not to enjoy when a journey offers scenic views and pauses for lunch and photography at the equator monument. After a relatively long distance of 532 kilometers from the airport, you arrive at the forest. The first day of your 7 days Uganda gorillas and Kenya Migration safari ends with check in, dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorillas Trekking and Batwa Community Experience
The second day is also one to remember. This is quite unusual because you will meet the mountain gorillas of Uganda in their own forest. All you have to do is head to the trailhead because the park’s representatives have to brief you. Get the tips on how to do and not do a gorilla trek in the impenetrable forest. Now, with the help of a ranger, track a habituated mountain gorilla family. When seen, you have all the 60 minutes in the world to watch them. Leave the forest and head to a community of Batwa Pygmies.
A visit such as this offers a lot of benefits to those who love to learn about new cultures. The Batwa, first of all, once occupied the forest, along with gorillas and other forest wildlife. You can learn how they co-existed, which is a feet not easily replicable by other tribes. Proof of this is done through demonstrations of their hunting skills and how they could make fire in archaic fashion. Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe and Fly to Kenya, Nairobi
At leisure, wake up and take breakfast and then check out because this seems responsible. Drive to either Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip for a flight back to Entebbe Airport. Your scheduled flight back takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. Have lunch and wait for the flight to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta Airport. Your arrival in Kenya’s capital is followed by pick up to your hotel within the city. Have dinner and overnight inside this extremely comfortable accommodation. Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
In the morning, get breakfast before a transfer to the northwest happens. Check out and drive for 150 kilometers to Lake Nakuru National Park. A trip to one of the most popular rift valley lakes in the East African region offers scenic views. Views of the rift valley unfold right in front of your eyes. Arrive and check in at your lodge, where you can relax, or have lunch if you did not along the way. When you walk along the lake shores, get high chances to see and photograph flamingos, herons and secretary birds. Back at your lodge get dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Game Drive and Transfer to Masai Mara
Have breakfast and check out because you have to explore Lake Nakuru National Park before a transfer. Go and do a game drive to see 450 bird species, with flamingos inclusive. The park offers more than just birds; it is also a rhino sanctuary. You can see both white rhino and black rhino species in this place. Other mammals to see at Lake Nakuru include zebras, impalas, waterbucks, bushbucks, spotted hyenas, stripped hyenas and giraffes etc.
Now, transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve, 245 kilometers in the southwestern direction. Pause for enroute lunch, while other pauses offer views of very lovely scenes, so beautiful you will need to take photos. Enter through the gate and head to your camp for check in. Day 6: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
After breakfast, you will need a full day game drive with picnic lunch to keep you energetic. Exploration of the Mara Triangle is generally for you to experience the annual Great Migration. Thousands to millions of wildebeests, gazelles and zebras move across the Mara River into Masai Mara. Meanwhile, a lot of lion prides can be seen during a game drive. Leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, buffaloes and innumerable species of antelopes roam almost everywhere. In the evening, return to your lodge and get dinner. Day 7: Return to Nairobi and Departure
After breakfast, you check out of camp and make a return to Nairobi. This city is 252 kilometers away by road. Lunch on the way makes the scenic trip familiar but pleasantly unforgettable.
